Arizona Nickersons

 I went looking for the three stores in Arizona, not sure why they were there to start with, but I could only find Picacho and Dateland.  We have a pretty long history of Picacho, but nothing at all on Dateland.  It did exist and was removed either through fire or destruction.  Here are a couple pictures:

      Nope, it is closed and gone. Fell down a couple years ago.

    So, as it turns out Mr. Nickerson moved to Arizona for his health and in doing so decided to open three stores there. The only one that made it any length of time was the Picacho Peak one. But, they are all gone now.

Death of a NIckersons

I am saddened to report, the Nickerson Farms building at Picacho Peak Arizona has collapsed.  Thanks to Dr. FD for the update and great pictures.  While not the last standing it was one of the few which was totally abandoned, nearly from the beginning.  Many of these restaurants were built miles from any population, depending on the highway traffic to survive, which they did not.
