Stopped in Eldon today to take a look at the original home office of Nickerson Farms. Here it is as of today, notice the red roof and design. After all these years, still standing and still speaking to the history of Nickersons.

Wow, I remember in 1968 when working at the Nickerson Farms located in Joplin on I-44, I drove to Eldon to apply for a
ReplyDeletemanagement position. I was hired as a manager trainee, working 50 hours per week. This was the start of a long relationship. I soon was transferred to the Nickerson
Farms store in Scott's City (I-44) then transferred to the NF at Emma, MO (I-44) then on to NF in Fargo, OH (I-71). I then was promoted to the new home office in Omaha, Nebraska as Director of Operations. I absolutly loved working for Nickersons Farms for 13 years.
I could not find any residue for the Joplin store, do you remember where it was and what happened to it?
ReplyDeleteTheir is a former Nickerson Farm restaurant building in Pocahontas Illinois that was refurbished years ago and is a restaurant once again. It's called the Fainting Goat.
